---Waterlogged---

2004-05-24 - 12:24 a.m.

Holy crap, it has rained like no other this last week. We've been getting rain, thunder and lightning, wind, and high humidity. Temperatures have been fluctuating.

This must mean that our abuse of the environment is causing radical changes in our atmosphere! It's the end of the world! At least, that's what the movie The Day After Tomorrow is going to want us to think. From when I first caught the preview, to yesterday when I talked to Joerg about it, I've had this movie pegged as a piece of environmental propaganda. Does it surprise me that such a movie emerges? Certainly not. Our best friend Michael Moore just won the top award at the Cannes film festival for his anti-Bush movie. Big surprise.

The assault continues.

Teaching is going well so far. First quiz tomorrow. We'll see if their silence has been out of boredom or because they are just totally lost. I expect that they'll do fine.

'Twas a nice weekend. Lia was back in town, and she got a job at Grand Blanc, her high school. We went to the Art Fair here is East Lansing on Saturday, and that was all right. We didn't get rained on. We also saw Troy on Friday, which was a good film. Orlando Bloom as Paris. Fitting.

Song Currently on WinAmp: "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondells. I remember that Aaron Turner of the 'Dale liked this song...a little too much, I might add. It's a cool song, though, and a lot different than most songs you hear.
