Subterranean By Design... ---Nice Weekend--- 2004-01-25 - 10:36 p.m. Ahhh, the weekend has come to a close and it was a good one. Good that I survived! I found that when mother nature wants, she can slow you down in a major way. Lia and I took off for Ypsilanti to see Jim and Co., and what should have been about an 80 minute drive turned into two hours and fifteen minutes. At least I was able to keep it in between the lines (if I had been coloring I would have been in trouble). Just the next day the roads were in pristine shape. I was happy for that, but cursed the prior night's condition. Times at Jimmy's were good. I got to see a few yos that I hardly see anymore, like the Kirsch, Brandon, Michelle Steffen, and Scott Hill. Saw Lost in Translation Saturday night with Lia and Rick and Sarah Grillo. It was pretty hilarious. I think it would have been only funnier had I seen it with all the boys from high school, as we share a joke about Asian accents. The movie was very different from your average flick. And Bill Murray demands to be seen. After spending Friday night on the floor, it felt wonderful to crawl into a nice warm bed on Saturday. Ah yes, I went to Church Saturday evening, and Father Dave was giving the Mass. It turns out that he writes a blog of his own, and he puts his homily notes and other things up there. It's a nice page that I like to visit to get the Catholic view on things. It also has a lot of links to Catholic pages (the Vatican, Kreeft, etc...). Sunday was very relaxing. I took Lia to the store and we did some grocery shopping. I got my homework finished and polished off three loads of laundry. MSU lost their basketball game in Shakespearean fashion, blowing a six point advantage with under two minutes to play and folding in OT. Got a call from the folks and am feeling quite happy heading into the week. Bowling tomorrow. Team Smoker is a pathetic 2-33. Hopefully Christina shows up this week and we can have five people for the first time in seven weeks. That might help. Song Currently on WinAmp: "Love Rollercoaster" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I'll always be reminded of Beavis and Butthead Do America when I hear this tune. It's amazing how that show completely disappeared from the airwaves. I wonder why some network like Comedy Central doesn't pick it up. If the Simpsons can still be on (which, by the way, hasn't been funny for a couple of years now) then Beavis and Butthead should be thriving.
