Subterranean By Design... ---KOed by KO--- 2003-12-08 - 11:28 p.m. Well it was a lazy, lazy Monday. I slept in until about 10:30, and didn't do much of anything all day. For dinner, I went to the Riv for half-off night, and met up with Rick and Sarah. We played some darts, and Rick got me two out of three, with two come from behind wins. Christina and Gary showed up (the latter with Whitney) and we headed off to bowling. At bowling we were facing the team that Kathy Owens bowls on, so we had our dollar matches head to head. It was not a profitable night for yours truly. KO didn't bowl a game under 170, and I went 149-141-153 for my "ordinary average guy" score of 443. Five pins over my average. Look out world. I would venture that I have the lowest standard deviation from average in the league. That first game should have been a 156, but my toe was a millimeter over the foul line and that damned buzzer went off on me. Our team lost the first game by 100, then won the next game by 3, and tied the third game. So we got three points. Not bad. In two weeks we start the second half, so that will be our chance to get back into things. --- I wasted a good deal of time, today, arguing with fellow grad student, Joerg, over news organizations. It was a good debate, until he told me I should listen to NPR. Blech. While browsing Fox News I came across some things that are pretty discouraging, but also some things that keep hopes alive. Too bad that once those kids hit college, the numbers are probably going to go down. Looks like most of the PC link came from the website TongueTied.us. It looks to be a blog reporting all sort of ridiculous politically correct happenings across the country. It's pretty well constructed. Lia and I attended the Christmas concert of Holt High School on Thursday. It was nice to hear that they were singing hymns and other Christmas tunes that actually mention Christ. It's sort of sad that I was actually surprised that this was so. Song Currently on WinAmp: "On the Loose" by Saga. It's a song.
