Subterranean By Design... ---Karma--- 2004-05-06 - 1:45 a.m. So today I went into Wells via the bus. I had plenty of time to spare, so I decided to save a little on gas and take the public transit system. I studied and studied and goofed off a little and then I studied some more. Come 9:30 I packed my things up and walked to the bus stop. The problem was that I missed the last shuttle back to Melrose. So I walked over to the Union and called my roommates. No answer. I hung up before the machine caught and tried again, but no luck. So I pulled out my slip of paper with numbers on it (who needs a cell phone?) and called up Kevin. He was at Maggy's along with most of the industrial math people, and he informed me that none of them were in any shape to drive me back. Thus, I set out walking. Well I got to City Hall and I remembered that the underwater hockey people lived not too far away. So I set out in their general direction hoping to bum a ride home from one of them (Melrose is a long ass walk from campus). When I got there, they were in "post-hockey" party form. Joerg was there, so I plopped down and hung out for a while. As it is, they are looking for someone to live there next year. They made it pretty evident that they'd like me as a roommate, and they made their pitch and gave me a tour of the place. It looks like a pretty decent place to live. I'm within walking distance of school and St. Thomas, rent would be under four-hundred dollars, and I would have my own bedroom. The place is internet capable (I believe they said that it's wireless) and the landlords are good about maintenance (something that I'm not particularly used to). I told them that I'd think about it. So what started out as an unfortunate situation turned into a golden opportunity for a place to live. Was it chance that steered me in this way? Who knows. I'll have to think about whether I want to do this or not. Sounds decent though. Nice people there. Police Academy Three is on right now. Sweetchuck is Rick Grillo. Great flick.
