Subterranean By Design... ---AIDS day--- 2003-12-01 - 11:05 p.m. Not much to write about here. It was worldwide AIDS day, and I was one of the 152 people that voted in the State News online poll. Me and the other of the 95% said we're not participating in the festivities today. AIDS is something that can't really be helped...not until we find a cure, that is. I mean, it can be prevented in all cases except when an error happens in a transfusion, but most people get AIDS because they're not careful, i.e. they're stupid. We don't have worldwide "didn't look both ways before crossing the street days" or "got involved in organized crime and paid the price days." Maybe we should have a day comemmorating murder victims or those that suffer hunger. Those are far greater tragedies, in my eyes, than people who contract AIDS because they're not safe. AIDS sucks, and I feel bad for all the people that to deal with the terrible effects of it, but there are other, more tragic things that can happen to people that deserve more attention than AIDS. But I'm not against the day. --- Bowling went well for me tonight. I rolled 151-155-160 for a 466 series. Kathy Owens missed the first game. We tied the second game, but I got her in the third, so I was up a buck. The team lost all seven points, which was kind of a drag. We lost the last game by five pins, and Nate had bowled a 105. At least he owes the first pitcher next week, when we square off against Kathy Owens' team. The pressure will be on. Looks like I am going to come up just short in fantasy football this week. Good thing I'm currently 3-9 or I might be pissed off. The Highsteppers just don't have it this year. Song Currently on WinAmp: Gemma Bier Trinken, by ??? It's a German tune about drinking it up. It was introduced to me by Jim, on the classic "Ballerman Hits" CD. This song came on at least once at every party we threw at the Highlands. It was a fantastic brew-ha-ha tune.
